Long gone from my bed is the warmth that once lay beside me.
The sweet scent that would greet me as I rest my head upon the pillow has departed.
No more is the sound of light breathing to accompany my own.
The taste of soft lips has since washed from my tongue,
And my eyes are no longer greeted by your gentle beauty.
Instead they are met by an empty room, and the harsh light of the morning sun once again.
